Your videos never leave your device. All trimming, cropping, converting, compressing, and GIF creation happens 100% on your iPhone. Vidsmith has no servers and never uploads, views, or stores your media.
Vidsmith processes video entirely on-device using Apple's media frameworks. When you pick a video, iOS provides the app a local copy; results are saved back to your photo library only when you tap Save. Nothing is transmitted anywhere. We cannot see your content — there is no way for us to.
To understand which features are used and to fix crashes, Vidsmith uses Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Remote Config). This collects:
• Anonymous usage events — for example, which tool was opened and whether
an export succeeded, its processing time, and file sizes (numbers only, never content).
• Crash reports — device model, iOS version, and technical crash details.
• Basic device information used to deliver remote configuration.
Advertising-identifier collection is disabled. Vidsmith contains no ads, no tracking across other apps or websites, and no account system.
You can turn off analytics at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage data inside the app. The app works identically with it off.
Google LLC processes the data above on our behalf as described in the Google Privacy Policy. Data is retained for a limited period defined by Firebase defaults and is not used by us for advertising.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Depending on where you live (including under UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and Brazil's LGPD), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete data, and to object to processing. Because usage data is anonymous, we generally cannot link it to you; for any request or question, contact us at the address below.
Vidsmith is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
If a future version changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the date above will change.
